RE: [-empyre-] the promise
Reading this thread was a light for blind eyes of mine...
However, it brings questions into my mind. There is millions of people who
is using softwares, hardwares to create something they defined as ART, but
we only recognise a few of them.
Why ?
Because, - I believe-, they took a different angle, looked from a different
perspective to the material that everyone uses. Result is something we call
"unique". The digital chaos as we named internet
has many wonders, yes, but it still lacks HUGE definition problems, and yet
it has boundaries to all.
Yes, I can create a flash movie that tells a story with breathetaking
pictures and typography but I should know that if that exceeds some "K"s or
"MB"s then most of the people wont see it. Then if I cant share
why I design, what is the use ? isnt it the art simple a definition of
myself, my ideas? Shouldnt I share it with others?
We all have same tools , same bricks that create walls.. Yet, we create
different forms of art or simple products. Why ? is there a secret manual
for photoshop where you can create amazing pieces ?
I believe mostly we have been told the limitations of internet, digital era,
the famous saying of "the e-books are not like the real books , you have to
touch it , feel it..", but again we are developing through time, and we
should get used to the technology, we should disassemble it, and create new
forms from it. Didnt you take apart your moms hair dryer , or your TV ?
I think most of the problem comes not from the tools that we use are
"limitating" our imaginations. it is us that limitating our creations. HTML
is not enough? Flash is not fast enough? Who cares ? Did you push the limits
of them, did you create everything to fulfill the dream that can be possible
by those tools ? I should add that , I am NOT against the idea that ARTist
should be far more developed than tools, but we shouldnt underestimate the
medium and the tools we have.
By pushing the limits we also push the developers that creates tools we use.
About the forms of ART, being a computer engineer first, then a designer, I
should say the every form of communication, has its art form. Coding is not
visible to eyes, but it is also has something unique inside, some different
perspective, some ideas that can make a difference. its like math, it has
many wonders, yet it can be used simply for everythings. its "independent
from platforms". isnt it ART ?
